About Me:
I'm an ex-graffiti artist, however I still slap tag every now and then. I grew up around graffiti and it has been a major influence on my life and art. Most of my work has also been inspired by irezumi tattoos.
About my art:
I use to go by my artist name - Tres3 (however that was taken on here so I went with a combination of my old tag name and new name - MynesTres). Nowadays, I go by Duchess (short for His Royal Duchess). Why Duchess? Well, I live in Albuquerque, NM, which is commonly referred to as "Duke City" and there are just too many guys around here name Duke. Might as well be the only male Duchess lol. So if you see the initials HRD on a sticker or artwork, it is most likely me.
The majority of my work is freebase, which means I don't really know what I'm drawing, I just draw. Seriously, I don't plan it out, I just put pen/paint brush to the pad/canvas and go with the flow.
Over the past two years, I have come to realize that my art represents a part of my subconscious thoughts. The eye, which is in all my artwork, is a representation of myself looking into my thoughts and exploring my thoughts, my emotions, and reflections. It represents all my hope, happiness, dreams, fears, pain, sorrow, love and desires. In some ways, my painting and drawing help me explore who I am and where I want to go.

A Little Overboard with Canvas

I've been working on a 24" x 48" canvas today...wow, talk about a challenge. I thought the 20 x 24" canvas was a challenge. I should really invest in some kind of stand or drawing table. I've been using a Lovesac as table for my canvas work lol I also have to work on a 12 x 36" canvas, seven 12 x 12" canvas, and ink three completed drawing.
I'm starting to think that anything on paper I should stick with ink. However, I have a hard time accepting the black ink I have available. It's not dark enough. I really, really like dark ink which is way I use acrylic on paper...but I hate it when it bleeds through. Prehaps there is some type of "artist

It has been a long time since I posted on this blog. Almost two years. A lot has happen in my life since then. The last time I was on here, I was unemployed...for 8 months. I graduated from college with expections that the economy was getting better but was instead greeted with rejection letters and a lot of depression filling my heart. However, during this time of no money and searching, I began to find myself once more.
I found out what kind of person I am. What I was, and what I want to become. I experience new found, deep bonding friendships, the loss of deep bonding friendships due to misunderstanding and honesty, hope, new found love,

Great work! I really enjoy the monster make up you're doing. Did you finish your Tumor Movie and post it somewhere? The photo I saw from your gallery was from 2011, I think.
And excellent work with the drawings. I enjoy working in a similar style sometimes!
